Job Scope and Salary of PM Lee and President Obama

Interesting video comparing the 2 great leaders of our time. While PM Lee's worry about the TPP is understandable, but it is still not a life and death issue like those that President Obama needs to worry about on a daily basis. 

If I heard it correctly from Obama's speech, the Singapore Foreign Minister is so free to translate PM Lee's program into Javascript, it shows the extent of the ball-carrying by the Ministers and of the complacency problems we are facing in the Cabinet. Here's the comment from the video:

Interesting to show the wide differences in terms of salary and job scope between the Prime Minister of Singapore PM Lee Hsien Loong and that of the President of the United States of America, President Barack Obama. 

PM Lee is getting more than 4 times the pay of Obama, but the job scope and responsibility in terms of population and land area covered is so much lesser. And while PM Lee can afford time to write computer programs to solve puzzles, which only Michelle Obama could possibly find the time to use such a program, the other is having to worry about ISIS, North Korea, China, Russia, and not to mention the fight internally with the Republicans and the jerk called Trump, and worrying about lives of all Americans around the world.

Obama welcomes 'legendary' Lee Kuan Yew

So if we have to name one person who 'helped trigger the Asian miracle', it would have been Dr Winsemius rather than Mr Lee.

Finally, this 'trigger' is not an Asian secret but an open recipe to all countries around the world. So why didn't the 'trigger' lead to a worldwide 'miracle'? Even in Asia, the 'miracle' didn't spread evenly across the continent. Countries like the Philippines and Indonesia continue to languish behind in progress. So clearly, it takes much more than just 'triggers' for 'miracles' to happen. Therefore it makes little sense to speak of 'triggers for miracles' as though it happens at the snap of our fingers.
